Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Often referred to as “laughing” gas, nitrous oxide is delivered through a mask alongside oxygen. We monitor sedation closely to make sure that you feel relaxed and drowsy. Sedation also contributes to pain relief (most often in combination with local anesthetics). You can expect not to remember much of your procedure after receiving nitrous oxide, but the effects wear off within a few minutes of the mask being removed, so you’ll be able to walk out of our dental offices feeling mostly alert.
